About Us
Welcome to T7 Metalworks. This company was born from my passion to create using fire and steel, that goes all the way back to childhood. Ive always loved making things with my hands. As a kid I learned to forge square nails in a coal forge and I was hooked on forging. Over the years I evolved from forging square nails to forging knives and damascus.
In 2021 I was in a motorcycle accident, breaking my neck and back in several places along with nearly all of my ribs and my sternum, plus a list of other injuries. While I was lucky to be alive, I knew my ability to continue creating and forging was going to be limited for the rest of my life. This is what eventually led to the decision to buy a CNC milling machine. In 2022 I bought a small CNC mill and started learning all the ins and outs of CAD/CAM and machining in general. For my first project I decided to make a balisong, and the project quickly became an obsession. From this came the Xyphoid. Every Xyphoid is made 100% in house by me, from machining all the way to tuning and sharpening.
My business name (T7) and the name of my first balisong (the Xyphoid) both come from the some of the bones I broke in my crash. Of the 4 vertebra that I broke in my back and neck, the T7 is the one that has been the biggest life changer, and in a way, the main reason I ended up on the journey of making balisongs. I thought it was fitting for it to be the name of the business. The Xyphoid is named after the lower part of my sternum (called the xyphoid process) which is another one of the more painful injuries I sustained.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me and my business!
